Logline: A young chef prepares a meal for his abusive brother
Description: A short film about abusive brother that taunts him while he cooks. The main character's connection with his brother goes far deeper implying that he is distant with his brother however still loves him. This film follows the strict guidlines of DOGMA 95 rules. "Chef" explores the idea of that even through abuse people can find it in their heart to love and try to change.
Critque: In this movie the cinametography was incredably impressive, the lighting was extremely elegant. However I disliked the format that we followed, DOGMA 95 made this extremely excruciating to edit. The handheld shot made match cuts impossible so i tried to follow "The Bear"'s style of fast paste montage editing in order to get past the handhelp shots. Continuity was also impossible since we shot mostly out of order, the cooking scene required various types of props and the we could only get one take before throwing the food away.
